Creative Scotland has recently announced a new project: Now’s The Time, a sector development project for the Scottish jazz scene. The aim of the project is to enable the Scottish jazz sector to work together to find ways to address the challenges it faces, and to play to its strengths.
Informed by ‘Researching the Scottish Jazz and Blues Scene (2019-2022): Sectoral challenges and proposals for growth and sustainability’, and inspired by moments when the jazz community has come together to share experiences and ideas, we hope that the project will tap into the sector’s collective energy and imagination and that it will be the next practical step to the research report.
The project will be a programme of accessible surveys and events for people working in Scotland’s jazz scene to share their insights and experiences, and to work collectively to develop ideas to shape the sector’s future. For general information about Now’s The Time, and to register for updates about the project, please visit Now’s The Time.
Creative Scotland will use a tendering process to appoint someone to shape and facilitate this project, and to help the sector identify and articulate collectively what its next steps are. They have published an Invitation To Tender for delivery of the project on Public Contracts Scotland (PCS).
The deadline for submissions is noon on Tuesday 30 September 2025.
Prospective tenderers will need to register on the Public Contracts Scotland portal to access all the relevant guidance and documentation.
Any questions should be submitted via the PCS Question and Answers Portal or contact Kelly Neill, Finance and Procurement Officer via email Kelly.neill@creativescotland.
