Outer Spaces was set up in 2021, in response to the economic and social impact of the pandemic on artists’ practice and livelihoods. The unprecedented number of empty commercial properties that became available at the time inspired hope in founder Shân Edwards who saw an opportunity for collaboration and cultural renewal. Since then they have matched artists with vacant commercial property on a scale that has not existed in Scotland before.
Outer Spaces is proud to present an exciting new programme featuring commissions by artists Sooun Kim, Greer Pester, and Jamie Fitzpatrick. Selected from the Outer Spaces network of studio holders, these bold new works respond to one of Glasgow’s most historic spaces—the former Clydesdale banking hall at 30 St Vincent Place.
The programme offers a unique opportunity to showcase ambitious works. With the banking hall as the backdrop, the commissions serve as a dialogue within the building’s ongoing transformation.
The works will be unveiled in a series of pop-up events throughout Spring 2025, inviting the public to engage with the building’s rich history and its evolving role in the contemporary art scene.
