We’re looking for a skilled, experienced researcher to lead a focused project with us on a freelance, fixed-term basis. Creative Scotland supports the work through a targeted grant for organisational development.
Please see the full recruitment pack here.
The research will help us understand our membership better: their practices, profile, demography, skills and needs, and the experiences of everyone who’s engaged with our work since launch. It gives us the data and analysis to shape our strategy and programming.
The role
- Freelance, fixed term, 6 days
- Fixed fee of £2,400 (£400 per day), plus reasonable expenses
- Remote, with some in-person work at our office
- September to November 2026, reporting to the Executive Director
What’s involved You’ll run one online member survey and two to three group interviews, with in-person and online options. From these you’ll write a short summary report (PDF) of findings and recommendations, and present them to our Board, staff team and new voluntary programme advisory board. Both outputs are due early-to-mid November 2026.
What we’re looking for You design and deliver accessible online surveys and group interviews. You know the Creative Industries in Scotland and the talent, skills and training-needs agendas. You write strong reports that present complex information clearly, work independently to deadline, and collaborate well with clients. You must be registered self-employed, eligible to work in the UK, and hold appropriate public liability insurance.
